Stipend winners are required to submit a short submission to The Virginian, the VPTA newsletter, after returning elaborating on their experience at the event.
When will I be notified of the award and when will I receive the stipend?
You will be notified of the stipend award approximately 2-3 weeks after application deadline. If you are chosen for a student stipend, a reimbursement check will be mailed to you immediately following the conference (with proof of attendance).
Recommendation:
For conferences, please take advantage of the early bird deadline for more savings. Please visit the APTA or VPTA website for details about each event.
What are the criteria for choosing stipend recipients?
The stipend winners are chosen based on their previous and future participation in APTA activities, school activities, and other community activities. Preference will be given to potential or current leaders at the schools or student SIG. Our goal is to evenly award stipends between the nine PT/PTA programs in Virginia. Thus, all VPTA student members are encouraged to apply, regardless of the number of applicants from your program.
What if I have questions?
