VPTA PAC

A Political Action Committee (PAC) is any organization, person, or group of persons, established or maintained in whole or in part to receive and expend contributions for the primary purpose of expressly advocating the election or defeat of a clearly identified candidate in a nonfederal election in Virginia. (Virginia's Campaign Finance Disclosure Act)

  • VPTA PAC is an "unincorporated, non-profit association under the law of the Commonwealth of Virginia"
  • VPTA PAC is affiliated with Virginia Physical Therapy Association

The purpose of VPTA-PAC is to:

  1. Review and stay informed on Virginia General Assembly legislation.
  2. Coordinate and facilitate district and statewide PAC fundraising activities necessary to ensure that VPTA annual objectives are met in support of legislative initiatives.
  3. Distribute expenditures according to VPTA legislative goals.

VPTA-PAC was created to advance health care priorities related to physical therapist practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia. VPTA-PAC raises contributions and other support to facilitate election of candidates in statewide elections who align with the needs and priorities of the physical therapy profession and the patients and clients served by its members.

What your PAC dollars support

The VPTA Government Affairs Committee uses PAC donations to support federal and state legislators. We support legislators that have had positive influence in our legislative agenda. Without this support we are unable to attend events for these legislators and talk with them about our important recent issues including: a fee schedule for Workers' compensation, the Medicare therapy cap, including physical therapists in concussion legislation, the licensure of kinesiotherapists, and access to physical therapist services without a referral.

Your Donations Matter

We would not be as successful in advocating for the profession and our consumers without this money. If you donate to a legislator directly with a personal contribution, we would also love to work with you on contributing that through the VPTA PAC so you can represent physical therapy!

Contributions

VPTA-PAC is not supported by VPTA membership dues.

VPTA legislative successes are funded entirely from donations to VPTA-PAC. Advances in physical therapy practice in Virginia are contingent upon your generous gifts.

All VPTA-PAC donations must be reported to the Virginia State Board of Elections. Reporting information required by the SBE includes:

  • Donor name, address, phone and email;
  • Donor employer name and address;
  • Gift amount.

  • Contribute to VPTA-PAC Pledge Form
  • Private Practice donations
    • Private Practices are encouraged to give to VPTA-PAC. Consider making VPTA-PAC budget line item. VPTA-PAC donations are not tax deductible.

Honor Roll List of Donors

VPTA-PAC wishes to thank the all of the individuals and practices for their generosity throughout this past year. The contributions received are supporting VPTA legislative initiatives directed toward advancing physical therapist practice in Virginia, and the health and wellness of citizens in the Commonwealth.
