A Political Action Committee (PAC) is any organization, person, or group of persons, established or maintained in whole or in part to receive and expend contributions for the primary purpose of expressly advocating the election or defeat of a clearly identified candidate in a nonfederal election in Virginia. (Virginia’s Campaign Finance Disclosure Act)
- VPTA PAC is an “unincorporated, non-profit association under the law of the Commonwealth of Virginia”
- VPTA PAC is affiliated with Virginia Physical Therapy Association
The purpose of VPTA-PAC is to:
- Review and stay informed on Virginia General Assembly legislation.

- Coordinate and facilitate district and statewide PAC fundraising activities necessary to ensure that VPTA annual objectives are met in support of legislative initiatives.
- Distribute expenditures according to VPTA legislative goals.
VPTA-PAC was created to advance health care priorities related to physical therapist practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia. VPTA-PAC raises contributions and other support to facilitate election of candidates in statewide elections who align with the needs and priorities of the physical therapy profession and the patients and clients served by its members.

VPTA-PAC is not supported by VPTA membership dues.
VPTA legislative successes are funded entirely from donations to VPTA-PAC. Advances in physical therapy practice in Virginia are contingent upon your generous gifts.
All VPTA-PAC donations must be reported to the Virginia State Board of Elections. Reporting information required by the SBE includes:
Donor name, address, phone and email;
Donor employer name and address;
Gift amount.

- Private Practice donations
- Private Practices are encouraged to give to VPTA-PAC. Consider making VPTA-PAC budget line item. VPTA-PAC donations are not tax deductible.
